Sir Elton John's eldest son is nursing a broken collarbone after a playtime session went awry.

The Rocket Man hitmaker's husband, David Furnish, reveals four-year-old Zachary ignored his parents' advice to be cautious on a climbing apparatus on Tuesday (17Feb15) and ended up hurting himself.

Furnish tells People.com, "Zachary broke his clavicle two days ago on the playground jumping off the climbing tower. Which we told him not to do and told him not to do and told him not to do - and all his friends were doing it and he couldn't understand why we didn't want him to. You turn your back for half-a-second and he jumps off the climbing tower."

He continues, "He's fine. It's part of little boys, and growing and bumps and bruises and fortunately, not major broken bones."

The boy is now recovering at home, but will be joining his brother Elijah, two, to make a brief appearance at their famous father's annual Oscars viewing party on Sunday night (22Feb15).

Furnish says, "They're going to come in... say hi to the people they know and (then) get them home in time for their bath because we don't believe in disrupting their routine."
