The music legend was born in the three-bedroom home in Pinner, north-west London in 1947 and lived at the property until the age of 15 when his family moved.

The property is now going up for sale for the first time in 40 years with an asking price of $840,000 (£525,000).

The son of the current owner tells British newspaper the London Evening Standard, "We knew all about the history of the house growing up as my mum went to school with Elton's mum. His old room was mine for a while until my big brother claimed it as his. It was a lovely house to grow up in and my dad is only moving due to having a fall and needing closer care."
