Tributes will be paid to the late George Michael at a special concert next year.
Dame Esther Rantzen has revealed plans to hold a concert in memory of the late George Michael.
The late musician tragically died at his home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, on Christmas Day (25.12.16) and to commemorate the star the Childline founder is organising a show with an all-star line up as a tribute to George - who made a number of generous donations over the years - and to coincide with the organisation's 30th anniversary.

Could Selena's support of gay rights caused Russia to deny her access?
Selena Gomez was due to embark on a tour of the Russian Federation to perform two concerts in St. Petersburg and Moscow, as well as a show in Minsk, Belarus and Ukraine's Kiev. However, the young star has erased all four shows from her schedule, leaving some to speculate that Russia's strict anti-homosexual laws and Gomez's pro-gay rights stance could have caused her visa request to be denied.
The Young Star Is Apparently Unmoveable In Her Gay Rights Stance.
Russia has recently introduced a harsh new gay law that bans "propaganda on nontraditional sexual relationships" and punishes even talking about homosexuality around people under 18 years of age. Gomez's tour organisers believe that said laws prevented Selena, an outspoken supporter of gay rights, from obtaining a visa to perform in the country.

The legendary singer is relentless.
Elton John is possibly the busiest person in music right now. He’s recorded a brand new album, and made his first festival appearance in decades at the only festival worthy of his penchant for fancy dress: Bestival. And in-between all of that, he adopted a second child. Want more? Well he nearly died, so there’s that.
Elton John shouting his head off at Bestival.
"I did nine shows, 24 flights and played the White Tie and Tiara Ball [the annual fundraiser for his Elton John Aids Foundation] with Coldplay with a burst appendix. I was so lucky, because usually if it bursts, it causes peritonitis. If that happens, you have to be in hospital within an hour, otherwise you're brown bread,” explained Elton to The Guardian.

iTunes Festival 2013 is definitely one of the best yet - and we're only midway through!
One of London's most fabulous concert venues, The Roundhouse, is holding the biggest artists of the year between September 1st - 30th and it's only going to get better from here.
The festivities kicked off with Lady GaGa, who certainly garnered much 'Applause' with her electric set which saw her don little more than seashells in strategic places as she bellowed out a taster of her upcoming album 'Artpop'.
Bestival's 'Hello Sailor' themed year was no dry dock.
Bestival drew to a close last night (8th Sep) as thousands of revellers - dressed in their finest ocean-themed gear - celebrated the ten year anniversary of the annual fancy dress and performing arts event. Mermaids, Vikings, Tritons, Neptunes, and plenty of Spongebob Squarepants watched rapper-turned-reggae-singer Snoop Lion (formerly Dogg) headline the main stage on Saturday night.
Snoop: Lion Or Dogg, The Man Has Perfected His Stoner "Act."
As all eyes turned to the red, green and yellow backdrop, everyone wondered if and how the new Snoop - the one who claims to be an incarnation of Bob Marley - would do things differently to the shizzle and bizzle of the 'Smoke Weed Everyday' days. Turns out, things had barely changed. Before the big man himself had emerged onstage his 'hype' crew had already asked the crowd which coast their loyalties lay with and if anyone had smoked weed that day. Lion then sauntered on stage looking as laid back as ever and begins to perform 'Here Comes The King' whilst suspiciously subdued.
Taylor Swift is rumoured to be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming spy film, although conflicting rumours have emerged that say otherwise. So what's the deal?
Rumour has it that Taylor Swift will be making the leap on to the big screen in the upcoming British spy caper The Secret Service, with the country-tinged pop starlet apparently due to fill in one of the cameo appearances that are being dished out to famous faces such as David Beckham, Elton John and Adele. Although certain rumours suggest that the part is as good as hers, others claim that this is all bogus and Taylor hasn't even been approached by film bosses. So what gives?
Taylor Swift is tipped to play a cameo role in the spy film
A report from the UK's Daily Mirror states that Swift has landed the cameo role already, in which she will play a butt-kicking escapee of villainous Samuel L Jackson's character. The cameo appearance supposedly features her squaring up to the baddie after fleeing his lair and is one of many cameos lined up for the film, which has been described as being like a modern day version of James Bond (so Skyfall then). David Beckham is also being strongly linked with the role, as have Elton John and Adele, however it is Taylor who has given the first rebuttal and supposedly denied the rumours linking her with the role.
Sir Elton John receives the first ever Brit Icon award as well returning to the stage for the first time post surgery.
Sir Elton John was awarded with the inaugural Brit Icon award for having a 'lasting impact' on British Culture. The British legend marked this award by performing at London's Palladium theatre last night which also marked his return to the stage after undergoing surgery to remove his appendix.
According to the BBC, Rod Stewart was the one who presented the prize to Sir Elton and described him as "the second best rock singer ever". Stewart was among a long list of a-list stars to congratulate Sir Elton at the venue as the likes of Liz Hurley, Lulu and Gary Barlow were in attendance, with Gary tweeting "Just watched Elton John talk and perform for 2hours at the Palladium ! Inspirational ! #britsiconaward".
Sir Elton, now fully recovered from the surgery, played his greatest hits' set and according to NME Rod Stewart joined him towards the end and performed in a duet which included the hits "Sad Songs (Say So Much)' and songs from John's album 'Breaking Hearts'.

After smashing the band's instruments in protest of his set being cut short, Armstrong left the stage and was admitted to rehab the next day, cancelling his band's tour dates and promotional appearances.
The legendary singer is on the road to recovery after nearly dying.
Elton John’s recent health issues meant more than just cancelled tour dates, they threatened to end the gay icon’s life, according to the Candle in The Wind singer himself. “I'm lucky to be alive," he said, according to The NME. "I was a ticking time bomb. I guess I could have died at any time. I feel so lucky and so grateful to be alive."
Get well soon Elton!
The culprit was a nasty case of appendicitis, which, despite its common nature, can be a killer. It forced him out of London's Hyde Park on July 12 as well as the Collisioni festival in Italy last night (July 9) and a show in Germany tomorrow (July 11). Dates including festivals in Spain, France and Monaco have also been cancelled because of the illness. “Sir Elton is currently undergoing a course of intensive antibiotics and is expected to undergo surgery in the UK in the coming weeks, once doctors can be confident they have sufficiently reduced toxins within the inflamed appendicitis site,” said a statement on his website.

Albums of the week... Following 2011's massively successful collaborative album with Jay-Z 'Watch The Throne', Kanye West makes a return with a new solo effort entitled 'Yeezus'. He proves yet again that he is one serious hip-hop artist as he introduces a brand new edge to his sound that has not failed to engage his devoted fans with a number one spot on six charts including the US, the UK and Canada. As Joe Wilde summarises, 'This may be his best album to date and is probably his most discussed one too, but one thing it definitely is, is a Kanye West album and no-one can do anything quite like what he can do.' Read the Yeezus album review here.
Another album that's gaining some serious attention is everyone's favourite Icelandic rock band Sigur Ros, whose seventh album 'Kveikur' has not left any disappointment in the wake of its highly anticipated release. Their sound remains familiarly ambient as on 2012 offering 'Valtari', though has definitely become noisier and a little darker. Our reviewer Jim Pusey had only good things to say, revealing, 'Despite all the darkness to be found here, Sigur Ros have managed to create one of their most compelling albums to date by embracing that darkness and quite literally shining a light on it.' Now Henry Cavill (soon to be seen as the Man of Steel) has emerged as the front-runner to replace Cruise as spy leader Napoleon Solo.
Meanwhile, Juno Temple arrived to talk about her role as a mentally disturbed young woman in the upcoming film Magic Magic. She stars opposite Michael Cera, and mentions a wrenching confrontation as her favourite scene in the film, which was screened as part of the Director's Fortnight at Cannes.

In second place was composer and West End king Andrew Lloyd Webber, with £620 million, and the combined financial might of Irish rock band U2 finished third with £520 million. The full list will be published by the newspaper on Sunday 21, April.
Elsewhere on the list, former Spice Girls star Victoria Beckham shares an estimated fortune of £200 million with superstar husband David, while Rolling Stone frontman Mick Jagger was tied on the same amount. Elton John featured prominently, while dancer Michael Flatley surprised many by finishing seventh with a £191 million fortune. Keith Richards, Olivia and Dhani Harrison, and Sting rounded out the Top 10 with amounts over £180 million.
In the young music millions list, Adele unsurprisingly topped the list with an estimated £30 million fortune. It was widely reported that the Oscar-winner had made £10 million last year despite taking time off to recover from a throat operation and giving birth to her first child. Her award-winning album 21 has seen her value increase by 50%. Elsewhere, Cheryl Cole's estimated worth was increased to £14 million, while each of the five members of boy-band One Direction are said to be worth £5 million each - a figure likely to have increased exponentially by next year.
Fans of both Justin Bieber AND Ed Sheeran, forget it! It's never gonna happen. A collaboration between both of your favourite stars is officially off the cards, according to Sheeran himself. The Suffolk born singer-songwriter - who will duet with Elton John at the Grammys on Sunday - has previously worked with One Direction and Taylor Swift, though claims a collaborative effort with Bieber just wouldn't work.
"I don't think a collaboration would work with Justin. I think collaborations should be done with people that can actually click. Two male singers makes it very difficult for it to work," he told The Sun. Well, that's that then. Sheeran addressed rumors that he and Justin were working together by explaining he was actually in the studio with singer Tori Kelly, who has the same manager as Justin Bieber, Scooter Braun. He said: "I met Bieber's manager in New York and he said he's got this artist I want you to write with. Next time I was in LA, I was doing Jimmy Kimmel and he brought this girl to Kimmel and I met her straight afterwards. I then went to the studio and did a song."
Scooter has his fingers in plenty of pies and also represents South Korean sensation Psy. Can you imagine a collaboration between Sheeran and the Gangnam Style star? Think of the royalties Ed, think of the royalties.

Bestival is slowly but surely ranking up alongside Glastonbury in the battle of the festivals. We're not sure why, but Great Britain seems to be the place to be for music festivals; despite the high chance of rain, millions flock to the fields every year.
It might have something to do with the stellar acts pulled in by the festival spirit year after year. Bestival - this year - is set to be headlined by rock legend Elton John, Hip Hop giant Snoop Dogg (sorry Snoop, we can't get on board with this Lion thing) while Mia, the Flaming Lips and the Roots add to an already stunning roster. John was a VIP guest at the first-ever Isle of Wight festival back in the 60s, "I went with a group of friends specifically to see Bob Dylan," John said. "He was fantastic. Sitting in that field I could never have imagined that just a year later Melody Maker would run the front page headline 'Dylan digs Elton!', after he came to one of my first shows in America."
But will a 65-year-old Elton don a fancy dress costume? Bestival is famous for them, so he'll probably have to. "As the person who played a concert at New York's Central Park in 1980 dressed in full Donald Duck costume including webbed feet, I think I know quite a bit about the power and fun of fancy dress! I can't wait to see the audience at Bestival: they must all look amazing from the stage." (via The Guardian).
Justin Timberlake is back with a new single 'Suit & Tie' and an album on the way named 20/20 Experience, as well as appearing at a pre-Superbowl show this weekend the Grammy organisers have also announced that JT will be performing at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards on February 10th, reports MTV.
The awards are always a show not to miss and with his first live television performance in years, and his first performance at the Grammys for 4 years, this one is bound not to disappoint either. Everyone is hoping that the ex-N*Sync man will perform some teaser tracks from the upcoming album. Also taking to the stage during the evening will be nominees Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Mumford & Sons and FUN.
Timberlake isn't actually nominated for anything this time around but he's already won 6 in his career so far. Other nominees for the year include The Black Keys, Lumineers, Rihanna, Jack White, Frank Ocean, Jay-Z, and Kanye West. There'll also be a very special duet performance from Elton John and Ed Sheeran. With that kind of list JT is just the icing on the cake. The Grammy Awards takes place on February 10th, and JT's new album is out on March 19th.
In Your Face, Academy! Well, one of the strangest Oscar snubs in recent memory appears to have made the Academy look very silly indeed. Ben Affleck won Best Director at the Golden Globes on Sunday for Argo, which also won Best Drama. The actor-turned-filmmaker will not feature in the same category at the Oscars, though we guess won't be TOO bothered now.
The Brave One: It was pretty eventful Golden Globes by all accounts, with actress Jodie Foster finally coming out over her sexuality after years of ambiguity. The Silence of The Lambs star and two-times Oscar winner delivered a typically humorous and emotional speech, leaving much of the gathered audience in tears.
Dr Dre has become the highest earning musician of the year according to Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid musicians of 2012.
The rapper, who has been working on the follow-up to 1999's 2001 for an unprecedented time, has scooped up a whopping $110 million in pretax earnings over the year, and no prizes for guessing that his Beats by Dre headphones are at the root of his earning power. The majority of his massive earnings this year come down to the sale of 51% of his Beats company to mobile phone maker HTC, who bought a controlling stake in the business for $300 million earlier this year, around $100 million of which went to Dre.
Whilst Dre taking the top spot may have come as a surprise to some, the rest of the list is even more surprising with a number of musical icons proving that they still have massive earning power despite not maintaining the popularity they once had. Number two in the chart, Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, is no exception to this, as he scooped in a massive $80 million this year alone, largely due to his ongoing work with The Wall Live Tour.

Sir Elton John stirred up controversy in Beijing on Sunday (November 25, 2012) by dedicating his show to the Chinese artist and dissident Ai Weiwei. The 65 year-old singer said his performance was in honor of Weiwei's "spirit and talent," reports BBC News.
Weiwei - one of the world's leading sculptors - is an outspoken critic of the Chinese government stance on democracy and was detained for nearly three months last year. According to audience members at Elton's show, a "murmur of shock rippled through the crowd," after the tribute. The British star had met Weiwei at the Wukesong Arena ahead of the concert and the artist later uploading a photograph of himself with Elton before re-tweeting a message from a fan that read, "My favorite thing about Elton John dedicating his concert to @aiww, Party leaders sons and daughters in the audience to hear it!" The singer continues the Asian leg of his world tour this week with shows in South Korea and Kuala Lumpur.
Elton isn't the first western entertainer to criticise the Chinese government during live shows. In 2008, Icelandic singer Bjork caused controversy among fans in China by shouting "Tibet, Tibet" at the end of a show in Shanghai.

It's been less than two months since Mumford And Sons released their number one selling second album 'Babel', but the folk band have already begun to create a new set of songs for album number three.
Banjo player Winston Marshall revealed to NME that they plan to write a lot more music following their remarkable success. 'We've started working on new songs, got a rehearsal studio', he said. 'Got a few new tunes out of it. It was great, sounds really cool. They're bones [of songs] but really exciting bones. Sturdy bones.' In a recent interview with The Guardian, he also insisted that their latest sound shares similarities to The National and The Band 'without doing either of them justice' while bass player Ted Dwane likened it to 'the glory-days Elton John'.
Marshall is also desperate to get the band together for the Glastonbury Festival next year having missed 2012's - the first year they've missed since their first appearance in 2008. 'We've done every Glastonbury that we could have and I've been every year since I can remember', he said. For now though, they have their Tour Of Two Halves to beat beginning in Torquay's Princess Theatre on November 21st 2012.
Most stars turn up in a limo, but Shania Twain's horseback arrival at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Nov. 14, 2012 has set the benchmark. No more limos, guys, the bar has been raised.
Twain was marketing her new show, which is titled 'Shania: Still the One' and opens Dec. 1, 2012 at the Colosseum. The 47-year-old singer didn't just ride a single horse down the strip, oh no, that wouldn't be ridiculous enough. Instead, she sat atop a horse among a herd of 40 other horses in a slow, organized stampede. Now, of course, a real stampede is neither slow nor organized, but promoters used the term to generate excitement for Shania Twain's horseback arrival. "We could either lose a few hundred dollars inside or come out and see what kind of spectacle she puts on," said Steve Huffman, a UPS manager from Charleston, W.Va., who watched with his wife, Debi, from an overhead pedestrian walkway, according to Yahoo News.
Despite releasing her self titled album way back in 1993, Shania only has four studio albums to her name, with The Woman in Me, Come on Over and Up all being subsequently released. Regardless her relatively small output, she is considered to be one of the country-music scene's greats, and her two-year residency at the L.A hotel, where stars such as Elton John and Jerry Seinfield perform, is testament to her influence as a musician.
Elton John goes digitalFor the first time, Sir Elton John's career-spanning catalogue of more than 30 albums will be available for digital download worldwide from March 26. It coincides with the global release in physical and digital formats of a new, 18-track compilation of his work, Rocket Man - The Definitive Hits, from Universal Music Group's Mercury Records.
