Ellie Goulding has been announced in the first round of acts set to appear at Free The Children's 'We Day' event on March 7 at London's Wembley Arena.
The announcement was made earlier today (22.01.14) at Paddington Academy in London in front of 480 students by Free The Children co-founder Craig Kielburger, Holly Branson, Lord Rumi Verjee and former 'X Factor' contestant Sam Callahan.
'We Day' will see speakers and performers entertain 12,000 students, teachers and supporters throughout the day, combining educational and inspirational speeches with show-stopping performances.
To earn one of the coveted event tickets, students must dedicate their time to at least one global and one local charitable act as part of the year long initiative 'We Act'.
Craig Kielburger - who founded 'Free The Children at the tender age of 12 - said: ''When I was young I wanted to make a difference in the world, there wasn't much out there to support my dreams. I was told I was too young to make a difference. That's what 'We Day' provides young people today - a platform to learn about global and local issues, take action and celebrate the meaningful contribution they're making to better our world.
''We are absolutely thrilled to bring 'We Day' to the UK for the first time and hope with the help of students across the country we can continue to make positive change locally in the UK and globally.''
'We Day' will be co-chaired by Lord Rumi Verjee and Free The Children ambassador Holly Branson.
She said: ''It makes me so happy that we're are now bringing We Day to the UK so that all of you and other students can get to experience how amazing it is.''
The global youth empowerment event will be held at London's Wembley Arena on the 7 March where the acts will be joined by the former US Vice president Al Gore, founder of The Malala Fund, Malala Yousafzai, Paralympian Martine Wright and founder of SBTV, Jamal Edwards.
Holly Branson, Lord Rumi Verjee and Craig Kielburger came together today at Paddington Academy for the big announcement, where pupils were serenaded by Sam Callahan.
