Ellie Goulding has joined the line of celebrities finally hitting back at cruel internet trolls. The ‘Burn’ singer has recently gone through something of a body transformation, dropping a few pounds and toning up. She’s been following a healthy diet and exercising, and although there is definitely a difference it’s not a dramatic and worrying weight loss. Ellie simply looks like she’s been taking care of herself.

She’s clearly pretty proud of her progress and has been posting various scantily clad snaps on her Instagram account. Sadly though, you just can't predict what strange comments people will come out with. Although Ellie looks fantastic and the majority of her Instagram followers have been extremely complimentary, there are always a few trolls to rain on the parade.

Some of the comments include telling the singer that she has a “weird mid section” and asking you “never used to be a living skeleton…What happened?” Fortunately though, Ellie ain’t puttin’ up with it no more! After Ellie posted a pic of herself in a pair of exercise shorts, one follower commented, “Apparently you’re too fat, too thin and too athletic? I like it - don’t you go changin’!” Ellie had clearly been thinking the exact same thing as she replied to the message, “Ha! I know!” before posting her own thoughts on the topic.

Ellie wrote to her fans, “Re recent Instagram post - quite baffling being described as underweight and overweight simultaneously…*scratches head*” It seems Ellie has noticed the one rule that everyone celebrity should always remember - you can’t please everyone! There are always going to be haters out there, some genuinely have backwards beliefs, some are just saying mean things to antagonise, the most important thing is to make sure you are making yourself happy and healthy and not worry about what they say.

This is the second time in the past few weeks that a female celebrity has hit out at hate on the internet. Last month John Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen, who is, incidentally a Sports Illustrated model, hit out at people who criticised her weight on a photo she had posted. Chrissy replied, “In what other real life situation would you walk up to someone and tell them they’re fat or gained weight? Seriously you are POS.”

The model told a magazine last year, “I learned a long time ago not to Google myself. But I read all the comments on my blog. I don’t really care if people say they don’t like the way I look or something like that.”

Perhaps Chrissy can give Ellie a few lessons in the art of not giving a f*ck, she seems to have it down to a tee.
