British singer Ellie Goulding is dating pop rocker Dougie Poynter.

The pair sparked romance rumours last month (Feb14) after the MCFly star was spotted arriving at the Lights hitmaker's London home on several occasions.

They remained tight-lipped about the status of their relationship, but now Poynter has admitted they have been dating since last year (13).

Poynter tells Britain's Mail on Sunday newspaper, "We've been seeing each other since last year. Ellie's a great girl, such a lovely person and a breath of fresh air in this industry.

"In the music industry you always bump into the same people, so it's nice when you get to meet other musicians you like and want to spend time with."

Poynter is Goulding's latest celebrity boyfriend, she has previously dated War Horse actor Jeremy Irvine, dubstep star Skrillex, British DJ Greg James and was linked to One Direction's Niall Horan in 2013.

The MCFly guitarist dated pop star Frankie Sandford between 2008 and 2010.
