20 year old rising star Elli Ingram, whose Island Records mini-album "The Doghouse", released this week, has marked her out as a truly singular new talent, will perform a headlining show at London's Bush Hall on Monday April 28th. "The Doghouse" featuring lead track "When It Was Dark", is the follow up to Elli's independently released Sober EP which introduced her as an artist with a sound and voice of rare depth for one so young. Elli, and full band, who on the strength of a handful of shows in London and Brighton, has already built a reputation as an extraordinary live performer, will be showcasing tracks from both releases. Tickets are priced at o7 and will be available from Tues April 1st (General Sale). You can also catch Elli live at Koko for Annie Mac Presents on 12th April and another special performance towards the end of April, details tba.
Speaking about "The Doghouse", Elli says "This new project is called 'The Doghouse' after the little residential studio, The Doghouse, out in Reading, which I first went to about a year ago with Aston and Felix. I've been back there, twice since then, to record and it's become like a 2nd home to me and my team. The stories and memories we created there are endless. It's where we made a lot of the sober EP and all of these new songs. This special space allowed us to escape from the world and write and record with total creative freedom. The songs are us experimenting with lots of different sounds and emotions and show the people what to expect from my team and I. I can't wait for everyone to hear it, I just hope they love it as much as I do!"
The video for the lead track, "When It Was Dark" was directed by the award-winning Emil Nava, (Ed Sheeran, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J) who was so blown away by Elli's talent when he worked on the Mad Love video, that he has committed to be working alongside Elli on all visual aspects of the campaign from here on in.
