British model/actress Elizabeth Hurley's wedding celebrations have suffered a setback after officials in Mumbai, India demolished the proposed venue for a beach party.
Hurley and new husband Arun Nayar are currently in India continuing their nuptial festivities after tying the knot in England last Friday (02MAR07), but have fallen foul of the country's strict planning laws in their bid to hold a party by the sea.
A state demolition team tore down a series of party tents and wooden structures on Mumbai's Juhu beach yesterday (06MAR07).
A state official explains, "We acted on an official complaint. Nobody is above the law."
S.S. ZENDE, a local municipal officer, says, "Illegal encroachment along the beach coastline is not allowed."
