LATEST: Elizabeth Hurley has come under fire from campaigners for enriching her wardrobe instead of charitable causes.
The model/actress hosted the London Fashion Rocks event on 15 October (03), benefitting the PRINCE'S TRUST charity.
And she stole the show by appearing in an astonishing 19 different couture gowns from some of the world's most exclusive - and expensive - designers. Hurley was given the dresses to keep as a thank you, but some disgruntled people behind the scenes are furious she hasn't donated the dresses - costing between $16,000 (GBP10,000) and $48,000 (GBP30,000) - to a good cause.
One source says, "It's not really in the spirit of the event is it? The whole point was to raise as much money as possible for the Prince's Trust - not to walk off with a new evening wardrobe."
But a spokesman for the Bedazzled beauty has tried to minimise the damage, saying, "Elizabeth has been saving many of her couture dresses for some time now, with a view to auctioning them off for charity in the future."28/10/2003 21:12
