Actress and model Elizabeth Hurley has surprised everyone by marrying her Indian businessman partner Arun Nayar the day before the celebrations at a grand castle today.
It was initially thought the couple would be marrying on Saturday as the invitations for the event asked guests to their "marriage", but the Austin Powers actress instead had a private ceremony on Friday with only two witnesses.
"Liz wanted just a few hours of knowing that a few of the most precious people in her life knew about it first," a source told the Daily Mirror.
"They wanted to enjoy their wedding night alone. She lives her life in a goldfish bowl and this was a very precious moment. Now they are having a big, public blessing with all their celebrity friends," the source added.
Said celebrity friends of the couple include Sir Elton John, Patsy Kensit and David Beckham, who will be attending the glitzy celebrations at the historic Sudeley castle in Gloucestershire.
Once home to Queen Katherine Parr and Lady Jane Grey the castle, now belonging to the family of Hurley's close friend Henry Dent-Brocklehurst, will host a lavish party and a blessing of the newlyweds' marriage.
After the castle blessing the couple are expected to fly to Rajasthan for the Indian part of their wedding for which Hurley has requested the guest wear Pink.
