Actress Elizabeth Banks is suffering from severe sleep deprivation as she adjusts to life as a mother of two, insisting she struggles with even the simplest of chores.

The Hunger Games star and her husband Max Handelman welcomed their second son, Magnus Mitchell, via surrogate last November (12), and Banks admits the early wake up calls from her kids are taking a serious toll on her wellbeing because she can't force herself to adapt to their sleeping schedule.

She tells Women's Health magazine, "Even though I have a baby that wakes up anywhere between 5.30 and 6.30 in the morning, I still cannot get myself to bed before, like, 1am every night. I am falling apart under the weight of lack of sleep."

As a result, Banks considers completing small parental tasks a big achievement.

She says, "Sometimes I just think I can make this dinner, eat it, and clean it up, and I accomplished something. I nurtured my family and myself. I like doing mum s**t."

Banks and Handelman are also parents to two-year-old son Felix.
