British musical star Elaine Paige is to return to London's West End stage for the first time in seven years in May (07), with the lead role in a production of hit Broadway musical The Drowsy Chaperone.
The 58-year-old singer, who made her name in the musicals EVITA, CATS and CHESS, will play a Broadway starlet who wants to give up the stage to get married.
She says she's "very excited" to be singing in the musical, which has won five Tony Awards in the US since opening on Broadway last year (06).
