Musical pop project El Perro Del Mar (made up of Swedish solo artist Sarah Assbring) is set to release her new single 'Walk On By' on October 22nd 2012 through Memphis Industries. It has been taken from her upcoming fifth studio album 'Pale Fire' due out on November 12th 2012.
The video is a psychedelic kaleidoscope of colour that almost looks like fire with grainy pictures of nature and Sarah dancing in a greenish stripy pyjama-like set alongside it. The song has elements of dream pop and trip hop to it with its lo fi, down tempo electronic sound, however the back beat is much faster and more upbeat and has an almost Caribbean flavour about it.
'I love irony in a pop song', she said of her new single. 'Irony gives you the chance to be deadly serious without necessarily being taken seriously. It's also a really good way to write yourself out of a lousy love affair which is the case with 'Walk On By'.' She also reveals that the song was based on the 1990 documentary movie 'Paris Is Burning' which discussed the rise in drag balls and the gender and sexual orientation issues that surrounded it.
