Ed Norton thinks the British Academy Film Awards feel like a reunion of his ''gang''.

The 45-year-old star, who's been nominated for the Best Supporting Actor prize for his role in the Alejandro González Iñárritu-directed film 'Birdman', has revealed he's looking forward to catching up with some old friends during the event at the Royal Opera House in London tonight (08.02.15).

Speaking on the red carpet prior to the ceremony, he shared: ''Steve Carell is a friend of our family. Bennett Miller and Wes Anderson and Alejandro ... and Ray Fiennes - these are all friends.

''It's triply fun when everyone is together. There's something nice about having your gang all together in the mix. I feel like Mark and Ethan - these are career-high performances for them and they inspire me.

''So, it's just a lot of fun. We've all known each other a long time, so it's a lot of fun.''

Ed stars alongside Michael Keaton in 'Birdman' and has revealed his co-star is great to work with.

He said: ''He's so funny. The biggest challenge with Michael is not laughing during the take because he does so many unexpected, fun things.''

Ed is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category alongside Steve Carell ('Foxcatcher'), Ethan Hawke ('Boyhood'), Mark Ruffalo ('Foxcatcher') and JK Simmons ('Whiplash').
