Eddie Murphy has quipped that he is likely to be the worst Oscars host ever, when he helms the award ceremony on February 26th 2012. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the veteran comedic actor jokingly claimed he would urinate on himself in front of a "billion people".
When asked how he predicts the ceremony would go, the actor explained, "I'm going to be introducing people and looking straight at the camera. And I'm going to wear a powdered sky-blue tuxedo and at the end of the evening, I'm going to urinate on myself in front of a billion people. Just letting you know - the worst host ever". The comments come as Eddie covers Rolling Stone magazine and talks candidly about the incident at the 2007 Oscars, when he allegedly stormed out of the ceremony after losing out to Alan Arkin for the 'Best Supporting Actor' gong. Putting his actions into context, Murphy said, "Alan Arkin's performance in Little Miss Sunshine is Oscar-worthy . I totally understood and was totally cool", adding, "What happened was after I lost, I'm just chilling, and I was sitting next to Beyonce's pops, and he leans over and grabs me and is like, 'There will be other times.' And then you feel Spielberg on your shoulder going, 'It's all right, man.' Then Clint Eastwood walks by.I didn't have sour grapes at all. That's another reason I wanted to host the show - to show them that I'm down with it".
Murphy was announced as the host back in September, ending months of speculation that Ricky Gervais would get the job following his controversial performance at the GOLDEN GLOBES.
