Ed Sheeran gets our festive juices stirring with his ultra romantic new video for his song 'Perfect'. Set against the backdrop of some glorious ski slopes, it stars Zoey Deutch as his onscreen love interest.
The video has been directed by Jason Koenig (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis) and follows a pair of friends who find themselves becoming more than that during a day of snowboarding and skiing. Every romantic cliche is in there; snowball fights, Ed holding on to Zoey as she attempts a sporting activity, and they even end the video by dancing in the snow by lantern light. They also adopt a stray kitten, and Ed steals Zoey's heart with a song he wrote for her.
It's the 'perfect' winter wonderland visual. The singer wrote the song for his girlfriend of two years Cherry Seaborn, and he has previously said that it's the best love song he's ever written as of yet. It reached number four in the UK and followed singles 'Castle on the Hill', 'Shape of You' and 'Galway Girl' - all from his third studio album 'Divide'.
'Divide' topped the charts internationally, 14 countries to be exact, becoming the fastest-selling album by a male artist in the UK ever. Having sold 672,000 copies in the first week, it is also the third highest opening after Adele's '25' (which sold 800,307 in the same amount of time in 2015) and Oasis' 1997 release 'Be Here Now' (696,000 copies).
'Divide' is out now on Asylum Records and Atlantic Records.
