After posting a SB.TV video, he went on tour with Example. In 2010, he unveiled his 'Loose Change' EP which featured the original version of his multi-platinum song 'The A Team'. That year, he met Jamie Foxx while doing open mic nights in LA, and subsequently began recording in his studio while staying at his house. Sheeran broke into the mainstream in 2011 with his 'No. 5 Collaborations Project' EP featuring Wiley, Devlin, Ghetts and others. He soon signed to Asylum/Atlantic Records and released debut album '+' which included singles 'Drunk', 'The A Team', 'Lego House' and 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You'. The album topped the UK charts and became the ninth best-selling album of the year.

Ed Sheeran co-wrote the One Direction song 'Moments', released in 2011. The following year, he received two BRIT Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough of the Year. He then set out on a tour of the US with Snow Patrol. That year, his track 'Give Me Love' aired on 'The Vampire Diaries' episode 'Dangerous Liaisons'. He was chosen to perform at both the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2012 and the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony. In 2016, he won two Grammys for his song 'Thinking Out Loud' and ended his hiatus. In 2017 he launched two new singles - 'Shape of You' and 'Castle on the Hill' - with the prospect of his third studio album entitled 'Divide'.

In 2012 Sheeran dated Nina Nesbitt who is the subject of his songs 'Photograph' and 'Nina'. After they broke up Ed dated Athina Andrelos who works for Jamie Oliver. The relationship between them fell apart and in 2015 he was thought to be dating Cherry Seaborn who is his former high school friend.

Ed Sheeran's Promoter Turned Away From Viagogo After Confronting Them Over Ticket Touting

Ed Sheeran

The battle against ticket touting has escalated after Ed Sheeran’s promoter, along with two MPs, was turned away from the London offices of ticket re-sale site Viagogo when they confronted the company with a letter and questions regarding their practices.

They had travelled to the London HQ of Viagogo’s parent company VGL, accompanied by disappointed and irate customers who claimed the company had ripped them off by adding huge fees to the face value of a ticket, as well as VAT. However, Conservative MP Nigel Adams and Labour MP Sharon Hodgson were both told the police would be called if they didn’t leave the premises.

The company is accused of hiking the prices of tickets by up to 34% through hidden fees that only become apparent when a customer clicks through the site to payment details.

'Game Of Thrones' Director Defends Ed Sheeran Cameo

Ed Sheeran Game Of Thrones

After his cameo appearance in ‘Game Of Thrones’ this weekend that sharply divided viewers on social media, the show’s director has come to Ed Sheeran’s defence saying that the singer is a “lovely performer” who “deserved to be there”.

In fact, the reaction was such that 26 year old Sheeran quit Twitter altogether in the wake of the season premiere of the seventh series of ‘Game of Thrones’ on Sunday night (July 16th). However, the HBO fantasy show’s director, Jeremy Podeswa, has told The Daily Beast in a new interview that he felt Sheeran’s appearance was appropriate.

Podeswa admitted he was “a bit surprised that people have made that much fuss about it… he looks right in the show; he fits into the fabric of the show.”

Ed Sheeran Writes Songs For Jess Glynne

Ed Sheeran Jess Glynne

Ed Sheeran has written some songs for Jess Glynne's new album.

The 'Shape of You' hitmaker stormed the charts earlier this year with his comeback LP '÷' following 12 months away from the spotlight but, despite his busy schedule, the flame-haired hunk has still managed to find some time to pen two tracks titled 'Thursday' and 'Woman Like Me', for Jess' forthcoming record as she's hoping to emulate his success when she drops her new sound later this year.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ''After the success Jess enjoyed with her first album, she has been able to pick and choose who she works with but was delighted that Ed came on board. His offerings are set to be major components of Jess's album - his songwriting and her distinctive sound are a perfect fit.''

'Why Do They Hate Me?' Ed Sheeran Leaves Twitter Over Baffling Hate Messages

The 'Castle on the Hill' singer played a sensational set as the Sunday headliner at Glastonbury last month, but despite his popularity he has still received an influx of hateful abuse on Twitter. It started out with accusations that he was using a backing track throughout his performance rather than playing live (when he was actually using a loop pedal) and culminated in many telling him that he wasn't worthy of the Glasto slot in the first place.

UK Singles Chart Changes Rules To Prevent 'Ed Sheeran Effect'

Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran shattered all sorts of chart records earlier this year when his latest album Divide was released, with all 16 of its tracks hitting the UK Top 20 singles chart at the same time.

However, it’s now unlikely that anybody else will emulate such a feat, or even come close, after the Official Charts Company announced changes to the rules surrounding the compilation of the charts, particularly regarding the weighting given to streaming.

Ed Sheeran certainly doesn't deserve the amount of hate he's getting for his headline performance at Glastonbury 2017, but thankfully he appears to be taking it all in his stride. And, let's face it, it's hardly going to have a negative effect on his career.
