Ed Sheeran (born 17 February 1991) is a British singer-songwriter popular for his singles 'The A Team', 'Lego House' and 'Sing'.

Childhood: Ed Sheeran was born in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. His parents are art curator John Sheeran and jewellery designer Imogen Lock. While still a young child, Sheeran moved with his family to Framlingham, Suffolk. Sheeran was raised a Roman Catholic and joined a church choir at 4-years-old. He attended Thomas Mills High School where he began playing guitar and songwriting. He later became a part of the National Youth Theatre. One of his best childhood memories was seeing Damien Rice live in Ireland.
Musical career: Ed Sheeran released his debut EP 'The Orange Room' in 2005. In 2008, he relocated to London in search of live gigs, playing almost every single day of the year in 2009 before later hitting the road with Just Jack. After posting a SB.TV video, he went on tour with Example. In 2010, he unveiled his 'Loose Change' EP which featured the original version of his multi-platinum song 'The A Team'. That year, he met Jamie Foxx while doing open mic nights in LA, and subsequently began recording in his studio while staying at his house. Sheeran broke into the mainstream in 2011 with his 'No. 5 Collaborations Project' EP featuring Wiley, Devlin, Ghetts and others. He soon signed to Asylum/Atlantic Records and released debut album '+' which included singles 'Drunk', 'The A Team', 'Lego House' and 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You'. The album topped the UK charts and became the ninth best-selling album of the year. Ed Sheeran co-wrote the One Direction song 'Moments', released in 2011. The following year, he received two BRIT Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough of the Year. He then set out on a tour of the US with Snow Patrol. That year, his track 'Give Me Love' aired on 'The Vampire Diaries' episode 'Dangerous Liaisons'. He was chosen to perform at both the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2012 and the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony. He collaborated with Taylor Swift on her song 'Everything Has Changed' and even wrote One Direction's number one hit 'Little Things'. He performed alongside Elton John at the 2013 Grammys when the singer couldn't get Sheeran a solo spot. He set out on tour with Taylor Swift in 2013 and that year featured on Lupe Fiasco's song 'Old School Love' and Naughty Boy's 'Top Floor (Cabana)'. In 2014, he contributed the song 'I See Fire' to the end credits of 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' and released his second number one album 'x', produced by Rick Rubin. 'Sing' was the album's lead single.
Personal life: Ed Sheeran is a patron of the Youth Music Theatre UK. He bought a farm in Suffolk in 2012 but lived in Tennessee and LA during 2013.

The veteran singer-songwriter had been waiting nearly 50 years for a US Number One album.
Throughout his lengthy and prestigious career, singer-songwriter James Taylor has achieved many great things, but a US Number One album has always eluded him: until today! Taylor’s 47 year wait for a Billboard chart topping LP came to an end this week as it was announced that his new effort Before This World had outsold all rivals.
According to Nielsen SoundScan, Taylor’s 17th studio album sold 97,000 copies in its first week of release to debut atop the Billboard 200, with 96,000 of those coming through actual album sales (as opposed to streaming or track equivalents). His very first album, a self-titled effort, was released in December 1968 but only achieved a chart peak of Number 62 in the US.

Ed Sheeran looks set to join the increasing ranks of pop stars with their own concert movies, just like One Direction, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, with reports that his upcoming Wembley mega-gigs are to be transformed into a cinematic experience.
Reports emerged in The Sun on Wednesday (June 24th), quoting Ed as saying “We are doing something for the Wembley Stadium gigs. It will be a documentary. It's going to go out in cinemas in the UK and Europe. But it's just going to be a one-off thing.”

Sydney Bourbeau got an incredible surprise while singing at the West Edmonton Mall over the weekend.
Ed Sheeran gave one fan the "most incredible experience of her life" over the weekend, when he joined her onstage for a duet of his hit ‘Thinking Out Loud’. Sydney Bourbeau had been performing the song at the West Edmonton Mall as part of a fundraising concert for the Edmonton Humane Society, when she was joined onstage by the man himself who happened to be in the vicinity.
Ed Sheeran surprised a fan singing at an Edmonton Mall over the weekend.
"I had just finished taking my microphone out of the stand, so I thought someone was just coming up to grab the stand or fix something", Bourbeau told E! News.

As a result, Florence is one of the few artists who have managed to top the American and British albums charts at the same time – the ninth act to do so in the 2010s and the first since Ed Sheeran’s X last year.

Indie pop duo Twenty One Pilots are celebrating their first ever US Number 1 album, after the group’s second major label record Blurryface entered at the top of the Billboard 200. It sold 146,000 copies in the week ending May 24th, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Of that figure, a solid 134,000 were direct album sales, a healthy indication of the recent resurgence in physical music purchasing. Blurryface is Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun’s fourth album in total, following their Fueled By Ramen debut Vessel back in 2013.

The 'Waiting All Night' hitmakers are back with their second album, called 'We The Generation' and out in September.
British drum and bass group Rudimental have announced details of their second studio album, which will be out later this year. It will be titled We The Generation, and will be released on September 18th, 2015.
Consisting of fourteen tracks, the follow-up to their well-received 2013 debut Home will feature a galaxy of guest stars on vocals, including the late Bobby Womack on the final song ‘New Day’. The group also shared the first track to be taken from the new album, called ‘Never Let You Go’ which features Foy Vance on vocals.
