Duologue will release their new double a-side single, 'Cut & Run/Machine Stop' on the 20th May 2013 through Killing Moon Records. The new double a-side is taken from the band's critically acclaimed debut album, 'Song & Dance' which is out now. Following a storming series of performances at this year's SXSW, and their own sold-out UK shows, the London five-piece release two more powerful examples of why 'Song & Dance' received such strong and widespread praise.
The matching of rock and electronica is often a beguiling one, but the verve and energy at which Duologue attack both genres, aided by vocalist Tim Digby-Bell's harrowing falsetto, sounds cutting, immediate, and orbits a world entirely of its own. 'Cut & Run' harnesses an explosive, distorted guitar riff that intertwines with Toby Leeming's glitch-ridden synths and beats.
'Cut & Run' is backed by 'Machine Stop', the album's opening track. It's a dark, ghostly tune that builds and soars; showcasing all the fundamental nuances of what makes Duologue such an exciting British proposition.
Hearing these songs worked live is an experience in itself, and Duologue lead into a busy Summer of UK and European festival activity this May with performances at Liverpool's Sound City, Live at Leeds, and Brighton's The Great Escape Festival. Full festival listings as follows.
