Campaigners In Australia Are Calling For Drug-testing Kits To Be Made Available At Music Events After A Second Ecstasy-related Death Blighted The Stereosonic Festival.
A 19-year-old reveller passed away at a hospital after attending the Adelaide leg of the event on Saturday (05Dec15), days after a 25-year-old woman died following the Sydney show.
Both deaths have been blamed on dance drug ecstasy, and the double tragedy - coupled with 20 drug overdoses at Stereosonic in Brisbane on Sunday (06Dec15) - has prompted calls for pill testing to be available at festivals to minimise the risk of harm.
Independent Australian senator Nick Xenophon says, "We need to ask questions of what the police were doing. Thirty-five pills were confiscated when it appears that this concert was awash with pills. Using these pills seems to be a chemical form of Russian roulette. The other issue is what duty of care do the organisers of this event have."

'Blasé Boys Club Part 1' is the first in a series of EPs from DJ and producer Duke Dumont and is set to be released on October 2nd 2015.
Lead track 'Ocean Drive' is a majestic beginning with a more mature sound from the British producer, kicking off proceedings with an 80s disco pop feel.
There's a definite change in direction coming through, there's your typical mainstream Duke Dumont tracks, mixed in with tracks like 'Robert Talking' featuring 80s singer Robert Owens. The seven minute song is fun yet suave, Owens' singing adding a sexy tone to the track, and the funky guitars and light beats are reminiscent of Daft Punk's mega hit 'Get Lucky'. Perfect for the Ibiza closing parties.

Sam Smith leads nominations
Awards season rears its ominous head for another year, with some major ceremonies - in both film and music - having already taken place. We've seen prizes sent out for 2014's films; I.e. Golden Globes, the Critics' Choice Awards, People's Choice Awards, AFI Honours; and now it's time for music, with the BBC Sound of 2015 having already taken place and now The Brits and the Grammys have unveiled their candidates.
A day by day recommendation of this year's festival favourites.
Coachella Festival is nearly here, bringing with it one hell of a weekend chock full of great food, exciting entertainment and, most importantly, amazing music.
Arguably California's most eagerly anticipated event of the year, Coachella settles at the Empire Polo Club in Indio once again for the fifteenth year running between April 11th and 13th on the first weekend and April 18th and 20th on the second. It's not unheard of that a music festival was so good they had to hold it twice, but as of 2012 it has become a no-brainer for Coachella. In a nutshell, it is basically a big playground for grown-ups - though of course it is a family friendly event - featuring activities such as the 3 Legged Race, the Beauty Bar, the art studios, dodgeball and the almighty Pie Eating Contest, all while you're munching on a variety of cuisine from around the state and rocking out to some of the best bands you will ever hear.
