Rocker Duff Mckagan was awarded his high school diploma in Seattle, Washington on Tuesday (19Jun12), more than 30 years after dropping out of the education system.
The former Guns N' Roses star, 48, quit Roosevelt High School in the 10th grade, and later went on to take his General Educational Development (Ged) tests to prove his academic skills.
He returned to his home city on Tuesday for the Class of 2012's graduation ceremony, and he was given his honorary diploma after making a speech at the event.
In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Finally got my High School diploma today. I did the not-so-popular 48year plan."
His rocker pal Joe Perry adds, "Congratulations to Duff MCKagan from me and (wife) Billie Perry on your long awaited Diploma."
