Only two months after it announced with much fanfare that it would produce an All the President's Men-like drama about the Boston Globe's Pulitzer Prize-winning exposé of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church, Dreamworks said on Thursday it would not go ahead with the production. In April, DreamWorks president of production, Holly Bario, had said in a statement, The story of how this team of Editors and reporters came to uncover the truth will make a dramatic and compelling film. No reason was given for dropping the project, but today's (Friday) Hollywood Reporter said that the parting was amicable and noted that other studios are already lined up and the prestigious nature of the project will surely lock this up.
