Bosses At Selected Cinemas Across The U.s. Are Stepping Up Their Security For Screenings Of The N.w.a. Biopic Straight Outta Compton.
Executives at movie studio Universal Pictures have offered to pay for extra security for cinema bosses who have requested support for showings of the film, which tells the story of the controversial rap group that launched the careers of Dr. Dre and Ice Cube.
A spokesperson for Universal says, "The film has been seen by thousands of people at hundreds of screenings, all of which have happened without incident. The studio has not solicited enhanced security for theatres who will begin showing it this weekend, but has partnered with those exhibitors who have requested support for their locations."
Security was also boosted for the Los Angeles premiere of the movie on Monday (10Aug15) and no incidents were reported.
The biopic opens in the U.S. on Friday (14Aug15).
