Hip-hop producer Dr Dre isn't happy about turning 40 later this month (18FEB05) - he's gagged a British radio station from mentioning his age.

British digital radio station BBC RADIO 1XTRA planned a day of special programming to mark the NWA legend's landmark birthday, but have been told to keep his age a secret from fans by Dre's record label.

According to gossip website PAGESIX.COM, radio station staff received an email saying, "AFTERMATH RECORDS in the States are very unhappy with us drawing attention to the fact that Dr Dre is going to be 40 years old - so tone down the mentions of him turning 40.

"Just say it's his birthday so we're going to celebrate with 'Dre Day'."
