Former teen sensations NEW KIDS OF THE BLOCK are set to reform - as long as they can convince bandmember Donnie Wahlberg to take a break from his acting career.

The fivesome comprising of JORDAN and JON KNIGHT, Joey McIntyre, DANNY WOOD and Wahlberg had a string of hit singles and albums worldwide in the late 80s and early 90s, but split in 1994 after poor sales of their R+B album FACE The Music.

Since the band's split, Jon swapped showbiz for a career in real estate, while younger brother Jordan, McIntyre and Wood went on to record solo albums, with varying degrees of success.

Wahlberg went on to carve a successful acting career with roles in THE sixth sense, BAND OF BROTHERS and DREAMCATCHER and is one of the main castmembers of TV crime series BOOMTOWN.

But, according to British magazine NOW, the Knights, McIntyre and Wood are now trying to enrol Wahlberg into a band reunion, to cash in on the current trend of '80s bands regrouping, such as Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet.
