Donald Trump has denied tipping a Santa Monica waiter $10,000 (GBP5,000) on Monday (03Nov07), insisting that the "stupid" restaurant was simply trying to get publicity. The U.S. tycoon, 61, who has just had proposals to build a $2 billion (GBP1 billion) golf complex in Scotland turned down, rubbished the allegations, saying he wasn't even in California at the time. The Buffalo Club restaurant claimed Trump left the enormous tip after dining on pasta and cappuccinos worth $82.27 (GBP41), and have published a copy of the receipt on the Internet. The real estate mogul told New York gossip column PageSix, "This was done by the stupid restaurant to get publicity. It's not my signature."
