Property tycoon-turned-Tv personality Donald Trump is livid after politicians in Scotland gave the green light to a wind farm project he claims will spoil the view from his nearby golf resort.
The Apprentice boss alleges plans to erect off-shore wind turbines close to his Trump International Golf Links resort in Aberdeenshire will ruin the natural landscape, and has vowed to take legal action after ministers this week (beg25Mar13) approved the planned European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (Eowdc) project.
Trump insists he will halt his plans to build a second golf course at the resort while he fights the proposals, saying, "We will put our future plans in Aberdeen on hold, as will many others, until this ridiculous proposal is defeated... We will be bringing a lawsuit within the allocated period of time to stop what will definitely be the destruction of Aberdeen and Scotland itself.
"This was a purely political decision. We will spend whatever monies are necessary to see to it that these huge and unsightly industrial wind turbines are never constructed."
Trump also ranted about the decision in a series of posts on his Twitter.com page, calling the turbines "ugly" and criticising Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond.
