Madonna has said she believes Donald Trump’s election ‘had to happen’.

The Queen of Pop was speaking during a panel at the Brooklyn Talks at the Brooklyn Museum of Art in NYC on Thursday, January 19, the day before Trump assumes office.

Appearing alongside playwright Elizabeth Alexander, artist Marilyn Minter and the museum’s director Anne Pasternak, Madonna said Trump was elected for a reason, to show Americans they’d been taking their freedom for granted.

Gorillaz Release New Anti-Trump Song 'Hallelujah Money', Their First Music In Six Years

Animated band Gorillaz have dropped their first new music in nearly six years with an anti-Donald Trump protest song featuring Benjamin Clementine, called ‘Hallelujah Money’, which serves as the first taster from the group’s upcoming fifth album.

Blur frontman Damon Albarn has been teasing new material from his sometime side-project Gorillaz for a number of months, but on Thursday (January 19th) a brand new video was released for the song, which “explores themes of power, big business and humanity”.

Michael Flatley Reportedly Accepts Invitation To Perform At Trump Inauguration

Dance legend Michael Flatley is set to come out of retirement to perform with his Irish dance troupe at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration, according to new reports.

The 58 year old American star and his troupe of performers have been added to the bill at the Liberty Ball as part of president-elect Trump’s celebrations on Friday (January 20th).

TMZ, who broke the story, note that Flatley announced his retirement in early 2015, will perform for the first time since the death of his mother Eilish in December. Representatives for the professional dancer have refused to comment on the matter thusfar.

Rock icon Bruce Springsteen secretly played a 15-song acoustic gig at the White House last week, bidding farewell to the outgoing president Barack Obama and his staff.

The 67 year old rock veteran has been a regular visitor to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue throughout Obama’s two terms in office, and he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.

According to a report on the Springsteen fan site Backstreets – which reports on every gig The Boss performs, no matter how hard it is to get into – the attendance was around 250 staff members at the White House. He was joined by his wife, Patti Scialfa, for two tracks, and he even performed ‘Born In the U.S.A.’ – a track he very rarely plays live.

Following a string of memorable appearances on ‘Saturday Night Live’ in the last few months, Alec Baldwin has suggested that he’ll continue to do his impersonation of president-elect Donald Trump as much as his busy schedule will allow.

The 58 year old actor is set to be the host of a new 10-episode series of revived game show ‘Match Game’ in 2017, but he told ABC News over the weekend that despite the significant time commitment he’ll try to help out on ‘SNL’ with his Trump character as often as possible – and that he might bring it to some other platforms!

“I'm gonna do [my impression] as much as I can,” Baldwin said, “and there's discussions about other venues we might pursue to further express our gratitude and admiration for the Trump administration.”
