Puerto Rican singer/rapper Don Omar and singer/songwriter Prince Royce were the big winners at the 2012 Billboard Latin Music Awards on Thursday (26Apr12) after scooping eight prizes each.
The stars' massive haul included the Artist of the Year prize for Prince Royce and Best Album for his self-titled debut, while Omar's accolades included 2012 Song of the Year for his hit Danza Kuduro.
The prizegiving, held at the BankUnited Center in Miami, Florida, also featured success for Colombian singer Shakira, who collected four awards, and rocker Mana, who scored five.
Other winners included pop duo LMFAO, Enrique Iglesias and rapper Pitbull, while it was also a big night for singer Marc Anthony, who received a Billboard Hall of Fame Award for his career achievements.
He performed at the event along with Omar and Royce, Juanes, Pitbull and Brazilian star Michel Telo.
