Grudge Match Trailer

In years gone by, Henry 'Razor' Sharp and Billy 'The Kid' McDonnen were at the top of their profession, they were two of the best boxers on the national circuit. Both Pittsburgh residents, the men met in the ring on a number of occasions and had equally beat one and other. The boxers were meant to meet for one final showdown fight in 1983, but 'The Kid' suddenly announced his retirement and cancelled the fight it made for an abrupt end to both the men's careers.

Now, thirty years after the fight that never was, the men are once again put face to face and their initial meeting does not make for a happy reunion. A pathertic attempt at a war of words soon escalates into a full on brawl, the video of which instantly becomes a viral sensation.

Seeing an opportunity to cash in, boxing promoter Dante Slate Jr arranges for the two former local heroes to meet in the ring once again. The only problem with that is the men have been inactive for 30 years and both of them at incredibly out of shape. Will there ever be any chance of Razor and The Kid finding out who is Pittsburgh's best ever fighter?

Extraordinary
Just when you thought the mockumentary had mocked everything worth mocking, here comes a new gem of the genre that will have you rolling in the aisles once again.

Up for skewering this time around is the dog show, as Best in Show takes the absolutely inane shenanigans of dog breeders and handlers, impaling their obsession with a caliber of wit unseen since This is Spinal Tap made rock gods look like buffoons.

Waiting For Guffman Review

Excellent
"I hate you, and I hate your ass face!"

A minor masterpiece of improv comedy, I found a new appreciation for Waiting for Guffman after watching its DVD release. Very obviously the product of a lot of nutcase actors completely off their rockers and masterminded by Christopher Guest, one of the masterminds of Spinal Tap.

The Extreme Adventures Of Super Dave Review

Bad
Ever wished longingly for the glory days when you could watch "Late Night with David Letterman" and catch a little bit of that wacky Super Dave Osborne, the stuntman who just can't get things right? Well now you can relive those happy moments at your leisure, by taking Super Dave home in his theatrical -- er, straight-to-video -- debut: The Extreme Adventures of Super Dave!

What, you aren't frantically dialing your phone to reserve your copy at the video store yet? Take off your shoes and put down the car keys. If this video has proven anything, it's that what can be funny for 1/2 a minute probably usually won't make it for 91. Oh, how Super Dave proves it.

Return To Me Review

Good
Let's cut to the chase; the Weekly World News could have given us a better story about a man and a woman united by a heart transplant. It's not for lack of talent, either, that this flick stumbles. If anything, Return to Me hosts almost as overqualified a cast as Brian De Palma's lame duck blockbuster, Mission to Mars. The real problem here seems to be lack of directorial focus. After a career of feature film supporting roles, television walk-ons and cartoon voiceovers, Bonnie Hunt somehow convinced MGM to let her sit in the folding chair. The result is a charming romantic comedy tragically bogged down by the uncomfortable avoidance of its central plot point.

The drama of this film is the elephant in the room that everyone pretends to ignore. Bob Rueland (David Duchovny--The X Files) is a successful Chicago architectural engineer who is emotionally crushed when his gorilla-training wife (a role apparently inspired by real-life Gorilla Foundation president Dr. Penny Patterson), Elizabeth (Joely Richardson--101 Dalmatians), dies in some unspecified accident that we never really see. I guess they thought it might bring us down. Fortunately, Elizabeth filled out her organ donor card, affording local waitress Grace Briggs (Minnie Driver--Good Will Hunting) a second chance to live.

OK

Mockumentary maestro Christopher Guest -- the driving force behind "This Is Spinal Tap" and "Waiting For Guffman" -- aims his satirical squirt gun at obsessive dog owners in his latest tongue-in-cheek, interview vérité offering, "Best In Show."

Casting a wide net across kitchy Americana, Guest's cameras capture a handful of mildly lunatic canine caretakers as they travel to and prepare for a prestigious dog show.

There's Harlan Pepper (played by Guest), a North Carolina fishing shop owner and the proud papa of a sad-eyed bloodhound he's convinced is psychic. There's cross-eyed, buck-toothed Gerry and trampy Cookie Fleck (Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara), a middle-aged suburban couple with no kids but a pampered Norwich Terrier that is their pride and joy.
