Citizenfour

Also at the London Film Festival, Citizenfour held a special screening before suddenly appearing on release schedules, opening in the UK this weekend and in the US next week. It's a documentary about Edward Snowden by a journalist who worked with him to expose America's electronic surveillance programme. It's had great early buzz. Watch 'Citizenfour' Trailer.

Another London Film Festival movie, White Bird in a Blizzard, released its first trailer this week. It looks like a stunning, haunting drama about a teenager whose mother disappears. From filmmaker Gregg Araki, it stars Shailene Woodley, Eva Green, Shiloh Fernandez, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe and Thomas Jane. The film opens next week in the US. Watch 'White Bird In A Blizzard' Trailer.

The boy next door

A new trailer for the thriller The Boy Next Door was released this week. It stars Jennifer Lopez, Step Up's Ryan Guzman, John Corbett and Kristin Chenoweth in a story about a divorcee who falls for a teen boy. Although their fling looks like it turns into a fairly overblown Fatal Attraction-like stalker situation. The film opens in January in America and next spring in Britain. Watch 'The Boy Next Door' Trailer.

And finally, there was a new trailer for Ron Howard's epic seafaring adventure In the Heart of the Sea, starring Chris Hemsworth, Ben Whishaw, Cillian Murphy and Brendan Gleeson. It's based on the true story that inspired Moby Dick, when an 1820 whaling ship was terrorised by a sperm whale for 90 days. The movie opens next March. Watch 'In The Heart of The Sea' Trailer.
