Dominic Cooper is set to star in thriller 'Dead Man Down'.

The 'My Week with Marilyn' actor would star with Noomi Rapace and Colin Farrell in the Niels Arden Oplev-directed movie if negotiations are completed.

The movie tells the tale of a grieving husband (Farrell) who infiltrates a gang responsible for the deaths of those close to him and the disappearance of a young woman (Rapace).

Dominic - who rose to fame on movies including 'Mamma Mia!' and 'Tamara Drewe' - will play a friend of Farrell's character called Darcy.

Neal Moritz is on-board to produce the project, and shooting is set to begin in May.

British star Dominic has a number of projects coming up this year, including 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' - where he plays Henry Sturgess - and he recently completed filming on 'Summer in February'.

He is also due to star in 'Cities' - a thriller set in London, Mumbai and New York - alongside Kirsten Dunst, Orlando Bloom and Anil Kapoor.
