Dolly Parton has been left devastated after losing a collection of her early film and music material.
With a career spanning six decades, Parton has an extensive back archive and she transferred some of the older footage reels onto digital a few years ago, but some of the recordings were not salvageable - and the Jolene legend is sad she lost the material.
She tells Britain's The One Show, "Actually I have lost a lot of my early footage... and a lot of the songs that I had written, because I started writing songs when I was a child. I used the old Wollensak tape recorder, the reel to reel, and it started to die away and I didn't realise that was going to happen
"A few years ago I had to have people come in and try to save as much of it as they could. We lost a few things. That's a bad thing."
And now she's urging fans with old footage and recordings to follow her lead and get their video and audio memories properly saved: "You need to update it, upgrade it."
