Troubled rapper DMX believes God approves of his new single LORD GIVE ME A SIGN, because he managed to produce it for next to nothing. The hip-hop star recruited the notoriously expensive SCOTT SCORCH to produce his latest album THE YEAR OF THE DOG, AGAIN. But DMX was amazed when Scorch refused to charge for his work on Lord Give Me A Sign. He tells MTV, "He charges $80,000 a beat, very expensive. We bought two (beats), and he gave me the beat (for Lord Give Me a Sign) for free. "So it was ironic that the potentially biggest song on the album would be given to us for free. "On every album, there's a gospel song or a prayer. The song's either a conversation with the Lord or just a reference to how much I love the Lord and what I'm willing to do."
