Rapper DMX has been ordered to pay a whopping $242,000 (GBP121,000) after failing to honour a deal to promote a clothing line for dogs.
The 36-year-old, real name Earl Simmons, agreed to become a spokesman for bosses at Amusing Diversions Inc. after they produced and marketed a canine clothing line, named for his dog Boomer 129.
The line included dog caps, scarves, raincoats and bomber jackets.
Amusing Diversions bosses claimed Simmons failed to promote the merchandise on TV, at concerts and other public events as stipulated in his contract.
They state DMX also publicised the firm's competitors, causing substantial damages to the plaintiff.
