The Barclays Centre in New York City saw the arrival of such celebrities as MTV Host, Lenay Dunn, Angela Simmons (daughter of RUN DMC rapper, Joseph Simmons), former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens, R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, singer/songwriter Adrienne Bailon and radio personality and former rapper, Angie Martinez.
Other celebrities included television personality Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, Skylar Diggins from the Women's National Basketball Association team 'Tulsa Shock', DJ Khaled and hip hop artist Fabolous amongst others.

The rapper claims to have watched the clip of DJ Khaled's proposal to 'Super Bass' singer Nicki Minaj via MTV at least 30 times to ascertain whether the rapper and DJ's public display of admiration was bonafide or pack-o-lies.

The clip broadcast last Thursday (25th July) shows the record producer and radio personality Khaled addressed the 30 year-old, multi-personality rapper (famed for her gigantic booty) directly: "Nicki Minaj, I'm at MTV, I'm going to be honest with you; I love you. I like you, I want you, I want you to be mine," asking "Nicki Minaj, will you marry me?" as he produced a 10-carat diamond ring that has been valued at $500K.

The 'Starships' singer told Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex that, although she was surprised when Khaled pulled out a huge diamond ring and dedicated an oration of love to her, she also found it incredibly funny. "
I was shocked just like the rest of the world. I was cracking up laughing with the rest of the world 'cause Khaled is a master at what he does,"she admitted. She insisted that the DJ was her 'brother' and that neither of them is physically attracted to the other.

Nicki Minaj is asked for her hand in marriage on MTV by diamond ring toting DJ Khaled.
The 'Take It to the Head' singer pulled out a 10 carat diamond ring in a video on MTV News after a prolonged speech on why he was interested in marrying the curvy 'Starships' hitmaker.
"Nicki Minaj, I'm at MTV, I'm going to be honest with you; I love you. I like you, I want you, I want you to be mine," he began, and explained that he couldn't tell her to her face because he heard she was busy. He also mentioned that he wanted to tell her during the filming of his 'Take It To The Head' video in which she featured alongside Chris Brown, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne.
