Rapper Dizzee Rascal, Dj Mark Ronson and boy band The Wanted were among the stars who performed at a concert in London on Thursday (26Jul12) to mark the launch of the 2012 Olympics.
The sporting extravaganza officially kicks off on Friday (27Jul12) with an opening ceremony directed by Danny Boyle, but the best of the current British music scene took to the stage in the U.K. capital's Hyde Park to celebrate the 70-day journey of the Olympic torch.
Bonkers hitmaker Rascal, who carried the famed flame in London last Saturday (21Jul12), headlined the gig, which was attended by 80,000 fans.
Dizzee performed his track Scream, which is one of five official songs picked as an Olympics anthem, while singers Katy B and Eliza Doolittle and rapper Wretch 32 also thrilled fans during the all-star show.
The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes ‏took to his Twitter.com following the band's slot and posted, "Wicked gig at hyde park! Soo many people!"
The torch will be carried on the final leg of its journey through London on Friday before the opening ceremony.
