Dizzee Rascal has the chance to win his second Mobo award in two years, it has been claimed.

The chart-topping rapper has been nominated for the best male prize, which he claimed in 2007, BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat programme reports.

Alongside the Dance Wiv Me star in the running for the best male gong are Jay Sean, Sway, Taio Cruz and Wiley.

The rest of the shortlist for the 2008 awards is to be unveiled on Wednesday evening.

Amy Winehouse took the best female prize at last year's event and also performed at the O2 Arena, singing Tears Dry On Their Own and Me and Mrs Jones at the show.

The big winner at the 2007 Mobos was Ne-Yo, however, who scooped both the R 'n' B and best song awards. Kanye West won best video of the year for Stronger.

The 2008 Mobo Awards are to be held at London's Wembley Arena on October 15th.
