Burlesque pin-up Dita Von Teese has lavished praise on the British for their work in "pioneering kinkiness". The star insists the stereotype of the sexually-repressed Briton is inaccurate, and is adamant people in the U.K. are very open when it comes to sex. She says, "The British really are quite kinky. I love being in London because it has a heritage of burlesque. "One of the great pioneers at the turn of the last century was a group called Lydia Thompson And Her British Blondes. They were the first girls to wear fishnets tights and lift their skirts, and, by all accounts, they were very sexy in their G-strings."
