Superhero comedy THE INCREDIBLES swept the board at last night's (30JAN05) 32nd ANNIE AWARDS, picking up top gongs for Best Animated Feature, Best Directing and Best Voice Acting.

The Disney and Pixar film about a family of superheroes trying to live a normal life was the big winner at the 32nd annual awards, presented by the INTERNATIONAL ANIMATED FILM SOCIETY in Glendale's California's Alex Theater.

The Incredibles director and writer Brad Bird picked up a series of trophies, including Best Writing, Best Production Design and Best Music, as well as an acting gong for voicing the PARR family's seamstress EDNA MODE.

In the television categories, Spongebob Squarepants was named Best Animated Television Production and Brittany Murphy was honoured for her voice work as LUANE in comedy hit KING OF THE HILL.
