Dianna Agron learned to make ''smart choices'' from Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer.

The 27-year-old actress, who stars alongside the screen legends in 'The Family', says she learned a lot about Hollywood while working with the screen veterans, such as being selective about the projects she takes on.

Dianna explained: ''I feel like a lot of people want to work back-to-back-to-back for fear that it's going to go away and I think that if I'm to try and honour what I've seen from Michelle and Bob do, it's to make smart choices and make things that you really believe in. Because that's when you're having the most fun, and if you try and force it, you're probably only going to like half of your work.''

The former 'Glee' star enjoyed living in Normandy, France, while shooting the movie and didn't find it difficult being away from home.

She added to BANG Showbiz: ''I don't have my own family and I didn't have anything pulling my heart-strings back home. I mean, obviously, you have your friends and your family, but no children, so it was definitely good for me to be gone for a bit. But you have to do a great job of keeping in touch with everyone otherwise when you get back they'll be like, 'Who are you?'''
