British thespian SIR Derek Jacobi is delighted he has finally been offered a Hollywood villain role after decades of starring on the small screen.
The EMMY-winning actor, 66, has signed to star opposite fellow Brits KATE BECKINSALE and Bill Nighy in the UNDERWORLD sequel, which starts filming this month (NOV04) in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Jacobi enthuses, "My remaining ambition has already been to star in a big Hollywood movie and sit around a big kidney-shaped pool reading my lines and drinking my way through a cocktail list.
"And I've just found out today that I'm going to get my big chance to do just that playing opposite Kate in the sequel.
"The only drawback is we're actually filming in Canada so the pool frolics might have to wait.
"Maybe my poolside dreams will come true if Hollywood stops casting my old fellow university mate SIR Ian McKellen in all the good wizard roles."08/11/2004 14:18
