TRAINING DAY star Denzel Washington has slammed aspiring actors who spend more of their time trying to advance their careers through socialising than through sharpening their skills.
The OSCAR-winning actor refuses to acknowledge himself as a "product of Hollywood" and has never been a regular fixture on Tinseltown's party circuit - unlike many of his counterparts.
He says, "I don't feel connected to Hollywood at all. I'm a New Yorker... I don't change just because I moved.
"I'm trying to be a better actor and so far I haven't found where knowing somebody or partying with the right people made me any better - I think it's just the opposite... That's why I'm in the position I'm in."02/08/2004 21:32
