Dennis Quaid and Madeleine Stowe had an awkward encounter on set when they worked together on 1998 movie Playing By Heart - because he couldn't remember dating the actress.
And it wasn't just any date for Stowe - she was an 18-year-old virgin who had never been out with a guy before.
Appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in America on Tuesday (17Apr12), she recalled, "I had my first date when I was 18-and-a-half, and it was Dennis Quaid, who is a wonderful, beautiful human being... It was a great first date (but) I don't know if it was for him. I was a virgin and I was afraid to kiss him.
"We kissed and we made out and he told friends, 'I think she's a virgin and I don't wanna take that responsibility.' That's a champ."
But, unlike Stowe, Quaid quickly forgot about the date and had no recollection of it when the potential couple worked together 20 years later.
Stowe added, "It got back to me that he didn't remember (the date) and he said, 'Please tell me we didn't (sleep together)' and I said, 'No, we didn't. Nothing happened.'"
