Denise has several other cats and dogs in her household, and most recently adopted a puppy named Lily shortly after Hurricane Sandy devastated New York.
The actress and her children visited a North Shore Animal League America shelter in Long Island, New York, to help with relief efforts and the family fell in love with a black Labrador mix puppy.
She said at the time: ''My daughters came with [me], and we went home with a little girls.
''The girls named her Lily. We went back and forth, 'Should we name her Sandy because that was the name of the hurricane?' But it's also such a tragedy. So the girls picked Lily.''
