Josh Duhamel Offers Up Fergie As Co-star's Surrogate

Josh Duhamel Dean Winters

Actor Josh Duhamel jokingly offered his wife Fergie as a surrogate to new co-star Dean Winters during an awkward Tv interview in America on Wednesday (18Feb15).

After embarrassing his Battle Creek castmate by revealing his ex-girlfriends were always on the set, Transformers star Duhamel suggested his wife would be perfect for Winters when he revealed he was keen to become a dad.

The single John Wick star told U.S. news show Access Hollywood Live he wanted to become a father this year (15), prompting Duhamel to quip, "I could talk to my wife."

'John Wick' Makes $5.45 Million On Opening Night But Critics Aren't Too Sure About Its 'B-Movie' Styling

Keanu Reeves Michael Nyqvist Alfie Allen Willem Dafoe Dean Winters Adrianne Palicki Ian McShane

John Wick was released in US cinemas on Friday (24th October) and has already been hailed as a financial success, making $5.45 million on its opening night. So if you fancy seeing Keanu Reeves back where he belongs - in full action mode - here's what John Wick is all about and what the critics have to say.

Watch the Movie Trailer for John Wick

Keanu Reeves stars as John Wick, a retired New York hit man who returns to his old ways when a gang of thugs destroy the last reminder Wick has of his late wife. Michael Nyqvist (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones) star alongside Reeves as the film's protagonists. They are joined by the likes of Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man), Dean Winters (P.S. I Love You), Adrianne Palicki (Red Dawn) and Ian McShane (Deadwood).

The film has been well received by critics who have largely commented on its violent nature. It has been described as the archetypal action film which offers impressive fight scenes and a relatively simplistic storyline. As Vulture's critic wrote John Wick is 'a beautiful coffee-table action movie.' However, others have also criticised the violent element of the film, with one critic remarking John Wick 'is a film where every human being is a sack of meat waiting to be tenderized' (Globe and Mail).

John Wick Trailer

John Wick was one of the criminal underground's finest hitmen until the untimely death of his beloved wife. Now he's living a relatively solitary life with his pet dog, retired from that world and living peacefully. That is until his car gets recognised by some former enemies responsible for his wife's death and he is beaten half to death in his own home, his dog brutally killed in front of him. Unfortunately for the perpetrators, they have no idea who their messing with, and when they are warned by a major crime boss of his uniquely gifted fighting abilities, they are forced to recruit their deadliest men (and women) to take Wick down. But now, with nothing left to lose, Wick is more dangerous than ever before.

Winters Reveals Near-death Experience

Dean Winters

Actor Dean Winters came within minutes of death after he was struck down with a bacterial infection last year (09) - his heart stopped beating while he was on his way to hospital.

The 30 Rock star fell ill last June (09) with a fever and collapsed during a consultation with his doctor in New York, he was transported to a nearby hospital, but nearly didn't make it after losing consciousness in the ambulance.

He tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "I was afraid to go to St. Vincent's (hospital), so I went to my doctor's office on Central Park West, where I collapsed. I was turning black, and my whole head was swelling up. I died on Fifth Avenue."

Paramedics were able to revive him and he spent three weeks in an intensive care unit, before being released.

Winters Angered By Impersonator

Dean Winters

Actor Dean Winters has contacted the police after a series of bizarre incidents left him convinced a man has been impersonating him.
The Oz star fears he has been targeted by a fraudster after a variety of people claimed to know Winters, without ever having met him.
He tells New York Post's gossip column PageSix, "Four years ago, I met a girl in Bungalow 8. She said, 'Oh. My friend knows you.' But we'd never met. I've had other reports of being places where I wasn't.
"A female friend told me, 'I had fun talking to you on your MySpace page.' I said I don't have a MySpace page.' She said, 'I thought maybe it wasn't you, because you made some inappropriate comments.'"
And the string of mysterious antics has escalated over the last few weeks. Winters adds, "Two weeks ago, this Russian girl came up to me and said, 'Are you Dean Winters? Wait here.'
"She brings her friend over, and her friend says, 'That's not him.' She'd had a five-month relationship with this impostor thinking it was me.
"This creep is getting into parties, getting free drinks and free meals. Supposedly he looks like me. But he could be dangerous, and I want it stopped before someone gets hurt."

P.S. I Love You Review

Grim
Several times a year, greeting cards clutter up a mantel -- their words are filled with sentiment, but they don't really say anything and mean even less to others who idly pick them up, flip through them, and put them down without a second thought. P.S. I Love You is no different from the flimsy, forgettable cards that quickly pile up when stuffed away in a drawer. The film is a variation on the rom-com theme, but instead of pining over an attainable man, our female heroine stews about in the murky emotional aftermath of her husband's death.

Opening with an annoying, clichéd fight between Holly (Hilary Swank) and husband Gerry (Gerard Butler), P.S. I Love You quickly takes a turn for the worse with Gerry's death right after the opening credits. Of course, Gerry was the perfect man and devised a plan to send several letters to his widowed wife to help her through her grief after he's passed away. But the film wheels these emotions with no regard for the impact on the characters. Holly's grief is dealt with the same way the film approaches the couple's happy flashbacks -- barely scratching the surface and relying on the sentimental, such as personal trinkets and highlights from their relationship.

Hellraiser: Hellseeker Review

Grim
It was only a matter of time. The Hellraiser series, which began with a creepy as hell opening in 1987 and managed to stay fairly scary through Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth, has finally gone the way of Leprechaun and Children of the Corn.

Hellraiser #4 took place in outer space. Number 5 went straight to video.
