American rappers Dead Prez are heading to Britain later this month (APR06) to headline The Bigger Than Hip-Hop Tour in a bid to promote equality and political awareness. The hip-hop stars will appear alongside a host of established UK acts, including RODNEY P, SKITZ and Blak Twang, as well as emerging artists, to draw attention to groups promoting political awareness and social equality. Organiser KATE GLINSMAN tells AllHipHop.com, "The participation of all these organisations is testament to the need for more community activism. "It is crucial that this generation understand the philosophy and guiding principles behind positive action to create a united and progressive society. It's about more than music, but it's a great place to start." A third of the profits from the tour - which runs from 27 April to 4 May - will be donated to charities including Justice For Colombia and AfriKids. The organisation Love Music, Hate Racism will provide speakers at each of the shows to spread an anti-racist message.
It's Monday morning and my bones hurt. I'm tired, hung-over, and there's a slight ringing in my ears.
