Former FRIENDS star David Schwimmer immediately sought the advice of his parents, who are both lawyers, when he learned he would be playing an attorney on stage. The star is making his Broadway, New York debut in THE CAINE MUTINY COURT-MARSHAL, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning HERMAN WOUK novel. Schwimmer's parents, ARTHUR and ARLENE, were thrilled to share their opinions with their son. He explains, "I gave a copy of the script to each of them independently and asked them not to speak to each other, but to kind of break it down from a legal perspective. "They each came back with their scripts filled with Post-it notes of their ideas and suggestions, red-lining things and correcting typos." The actor jokes that his parents billed him for the time they were reviewing the script, adding, "That was the brutal part - being charged."
