FRIENDS star David Schwimmer will swap acting for directing when his hit TV show ends its 10-season run next year (04).

NBC ENTERTAINMENT boss JEFF ZUCKER has signed Schwimmer to an exclusive two-year series development deal, where he'll test out his skills behind the camera.

The actor will form a company which will allow him to develop, produce and direct the series.

Schwimmer is no stranger to directing - he has so far directed 10 episodes of Friends and made his feature debut on the TV movie SINCE YOU'VE BEEN GONE.
