Hot Dog... The Movie Review

Unbearable
Hot Dog... The Movie, in order to distinguish it from Hot Dog... The Snack, which you might also see on the shelf at Blockbuster. What was once a guilty pleasure is now just a terrible, terrible movie, a real disaster of a film full of lame skiing footage, atrocious attempts at bawdy humor, and half-assed sex scenes. The movie approximates a kid's-gotta-make-it story, with a midwestern kid trekking to Squaw Valley for a skiing competition, facing off against the big bad locals while getting his skis waxed, if you catch my drift. And yet it is all just simply, irrevocably awful. The acting is beyond bad, the bulk of the film is terribly dubbed, and even the snowboard settings are forgettable. It actually makes you feel sorry for Shannon Tweed. Avoid.

Like the American backpackers in the movie from which "The Slaughtered Lamb" derives its name, I simply muttered "what the bloody hell kinda name for a pub is 'The Slaughtered Lamb'." Regardless, we entered. On the wall, by what may be perhaps the tiniest bathroom in all of Manhattan, is a poster of An American Werewolf in London.
