David Letterman’s final ‘Late Late’ show guest has been revealed and it’s none other than Bill Murray, a man who's already notched up 43 appearances on the talk show host's famous sofa over the last 33 years.

Murray was the first guest of NBC’s ‘The David Letterman Show’ back in 1982 and his appearance ended up going down in television history. During the interview Murray memorably told Letterman “You got out of Indianapolis and didn’t look back.”

“I’m just waiting for the other shoe to fall on you, man, and I want to be there when it hits the floor! I had a chance to strangle Richard Nixon and I didn’t—and I regret it!”

Other guest who will help send off Letterman in his final week include Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Perl Jam singer Eddie Vedder. Bob Dylan will also be making his first appearance on the show since 1993, as the musical guest for Letterman’s penultimate episode on Wednesday May 20th.

Network CBS has promised Letterman will get the grand send off he deserves, saying that Thursday nights show “will be an hour filled with surprises [and] memorable highlights.”

But before he signs off from the ‘Late Show’ Dave will have to endure a grilling himself, as he’ll sit down with Jane Pauley on CBS’s Sunday Morning tomorrow at 9am. The appearance is being billed as Letterman’s only TV interview before exiting 'The Late Show'.
